WebAdvisor Help

WebAdvisor is an online student information system. Students can view their:

  • registration eligibility
  • financial aid status
  • fees due
  • class schedule
  • grades
  • unofficial transcripts

As part of the registration function, students may view and search the course schedule and register, waitlist, or drop classes. Address and phone number updates, degree evaluation requests and your application for graduation are also done through the WebAdvisor system.

The information displayed in WebAdvisor is updated real-time with our administrative database so you can be assured that all information is accurate as of the time you signed in to the system. Access to WebAdvisor is restricted to State Center Community College District students, faculty, and staff through individual user-ids and passwords.

Accessing WebAdvisor

You can access WebAdvisor directly by going to Do not do an internet search for WebAdvisor as WebAdvisor is used by thousands of college campuses across the country and finding the correct portal through an internet search is problematic. We recommend that you access WebAdvisor using a desktop or laptop computer with the following browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 7.x – 11.0 on Windows
  • Safari 2.x – 5.0 on Mac

While WebAdvisor has been accessed successfully from other browser/platform combinations and from various mobile devices, it is not reliable and results may be erratic. Currently there are known issues with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and with all mobile browsers such as those used in smart phones, iPads and other tablets. For best results, we strongly recommend using a desktop or laptop computer with one of the above supported browser/platform combinations to access WebAdvisor. In order to view all data on WebAdvisor, we also recommend that you use a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

Excluding announced maintenance periods, WebAdvisor is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.

Please note that fee payment, registration, status change, and add and drop deadlines are by 5:00 p.m. at the end of the stated business day. If you attempt to process these activities at or after 5:00 p.m. on the day of the deadline, your activity will not be successful.

Logging in to WebAdvisor

Click on ‘Log In’ in the upper right-hand corner of the WebAdvisor main menu. The login screen will ask you to enter your User ID and Password. If this is your first time using WebAdvisor, you may use the following:

  • User ID: studentIDnumber (for example: 0999999)
  • Default Password – first initial (upper case), your last initial (lower case), and your 6-digit date of birth MMDDYY (for example Js020183, not Js02011983 or Js211983)

See Login Instructions on District Page

If in doubt, click on Lookup My User ID on the WebAdvisor Main Menu to confirm your User ID.

Forgotten User IDs or Passwords

You can retrieve your User ID and reset your Password via links on the WebAdvisor main menu.

To retrieve your User ID

Click on ‘Lookup My User ID’ on the left hand side of the page, under the ‘Problems Logging In’ heading. You will need to enter:

  • your full last name of record
  • and either your Social Security Number (9 digit SSN) OR your College ID Number (7 digit student or staff ID number).

Your User ID will be displayed on the screen for you.

To reset your Password

Click on ‘Reset My Password’ on the left hand side of the page, under the red lettering. You will need to enter:

  • your full last name of record
  • and either your Social Security Number (9 digit SSN) OR your College ID Number (7 digit student or staff ID number).

Your new, temporary Password will be sent to your College email address ( for students). If you have not yet activated your student email and one is displayed for you, you must activate it to access your new WebAdvisor Password. Email instructions.

If you encounter problems with either of these processes, please contact the Help Desk at 559-499-6070 for assistance.

Creating Your Personal Password

When logging in with the default password or with the temporary password you’ve retrieved from your Student Email, you will be required to select a new personal password.

The system will require that you reenter your User ID (you cannot change this), your old password (which is the password you used on the previous screen) and have you choose a new password, confirm it, and enter an optional password hint.

In our example, Sam Rambooster chose the password of Galahad97 after his brown dog and the last two digits of his birth year. He capitalized Galahad, so he left himself a hint of “Brown dog + 2 birth year”, capitalizing Brown to indicate that “Galahad” was capitalized.

Hints are NOT required but are very helpful if you choose them carefully. You cannot repeat any part of your password in your hint.

All passwords for WebAdvisor must contain:

  • at least six (6) characters but cannot have more than nine (9) characters,
  • and must have both letters and numbers.

Sam used only 97 for his birth year as using Galahad1997 would have exceeded the nine (9) character maximum as it has eleven (11) characters total between the letters and numbers.

Once you’ve submitted your new password and it is accepted by the system, you’ll be taken back to the Main Menu.

At that point you’ll see your personalized welcome message in the upper left instead of the generic ‘Welcome Guest!’ that appears before you’re logged in. At this point you can click on the blue box labeled ‘Students’ on the right side of the screen to open your Student Menu.

Using WebAdvisor

The WebAdvisor for registration video does not address form completion and viewing stored information. If you experience difficulties, please contact the Help Desk at 559-499-6070 with the exact text of the error message you have received.

If you do not find any classes that meet your search criteria, try the following before calling the Help Desk.

  1. Select the correct term (semester). Prior terms are often still listed.
  2. Select the correct subject. From the drop down menu.
  3. If entering a course number, enter the 1-4 character designation listed in the catalog or schedule. 260B or 101 or 4B or 21 or 5
  4. If entering a section number, enter the 5 digit numeric schedule ID listed in the schedule book. 45821 or 83001
  5. Select the correct location. Online classes have a location that includes the word ‘Web’, such as FCC Web Class or RC Web Class. Do not use the All Web Class designation, it is not currently operational.
  6. There is a difference between 100% Web and Hybrid classes. Hybrid classes will require some on campus attendance. Click on the blue hyperlink for EVERY Web Class and read the Meeting Times and Important Notes carefully to ensure you do not need to com on campus if this is not an option for you.

Registration or Academic Holds

Some functions will be unavailable if you have Holds. Any Business office (BExx) hold will prevent the viewing of unofficial transcripts and grades. While all other Registration and Academic holds will allow those functions, they, along with the BExx holds, will prevent the following:

  • Class Registration
  • Adds with Authorization Codes
  • Drops
  • Waitlist Management

Please review the Holds Chart to determine the nature of your hold and how to clear it.

WebAdvisor Response Time Issues

There are a number of conditions that might affect your response time in WebAdvisor.

  • Often an increase in the response time is related to traffic over the communication lines.
  • A larger than normal number of users on other parts of our District’s system can slow the response time for everyone.

High-use time periods would include: The week after grades are released, the first week of Open Registration, and for the first two weeks of the semester.

You should notify the Student Systems Support Call Center at 559-499-6070 if you experience poor performance during non-peak usage periods. Since WebAdvisor is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we recommend accessing it in the late evening hours during peak periods.

If you have problems with any of the above information, please call the Student Systems Support Call Center at 559-499-6070, or toll-free at 866-245-3276. Assistance is available Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, except for holidays. If you are calling regarding an error message, please have the screen up on your computer when you call as you will need to read the exact message.
