Supporting Foster and Homeless Youth Reaching for Higher Education

Overview:Reach students 2016

  • Individual support and hands on guidance and assistance from application to degree completion
  • Ongoing academic and advising support, and personal counseling
  • Career exploration & advising, schedule planning, & student educational plans (SEP)
  • Financial support in the form of book grants (based on funding)
  • Priority registration
  • Counseling courses in the area of personal growth & development provided each semester


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Meet general admission requirements as outlined by Fresno City College (FCC) or be a current enrolled FCC student
  • Open to all ages of current or former foster youth
  • Homeless students as defined by McKinney-Vento Law
  • Extends support to those outside of the EOP requirements


The REACH Program is in alignment with the Fresno City College Student Equity Plan which enables accessibility and support services for our Foster/Homeless students to further prevent disproportionate transfer, degree and certificate completion rates.
