The Robert Presley Investigation (ICI) Major Drug Investigation Course is one of 14 ICI Foundation Specialty Courses within the Robert Presley Institute of Criminal Investigation. This course is designed for peace officers who are currently assigned or will be assigned to investigate major drug investigations. The course covers drug in field training, undercover surveillance, and counter surveillance. Provides qualifications to identify, arrest, and successfully prosecute various major drug violations. This course is designed to enhance the effectiveness of the individual criminal investigators skills in performing the multi-disciplined, multilevel tasks necessary to successfully conduct comprehensive major drug investigations. Instruction in this course is provided through a coordinated, experience-based adult learning approach which addresses search and seizure issues relating to major drug investigations, search warrant preparation, surveillance techniques, case reporting, informant management, major drug trafficking organizations and courtroom testimony. Students will engage in practical application exercises throughout this course and be required to satisfactorily complete case work and a major drug related search warrant.
Sworn Officers, Complete POST Search Warrant Portal (Certificate of completion must be brought to class), Statement of expertise "Hero Sheet" (Students must provide a draft copy of a "Hero Sheet" that covers their experience, training, for search warrants relating to drug arrests or possession for sales cases).
COURSE COST: No Cost for POST Reimbursable Agencies
NOTE: If you are a non-POST reimbursable agency/officer such as: CHP, a state agency, parole, probation, or correctional officer, you will pay a tuition cost. Please contact FCC Police Academy at (559) 442-8277 for those costs.
