FCC Dental Hygiene Clinic
Seal and Save Our Smiles is a day of philanthropic dentistry where volunteer dental personnel come together to provided much needed dental care for disadvantaged children age kindergarten through sixth grade. Dental hygiene students and faculty of FCC Dental Hygiene Program, local dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, dental assistant students, members of the community, and health providers are individuals giving their skills and talents. The event is open to the public on a first come first served basis.
Participants will receive an exam, screening, prophy, fluoride treatment, nutritional counseling, and oral hygiene instructions. Fresno-Madera Dental Society, Give Kids a Smile (GKAS), partners with Seal and Save Our Smiles (SOS) in providing restorative care off campus. Dental services include x-rays, fillings (white and silver), crowns, pulpotomies (baby root canals), and space maintainers at no cost to the families. Local health care organizations and providers participate in the Health Fair portion of the event. They offer information of various programs available and health screenings. SOS & GKAS anticipate approximately 300 children receiving free care.
