The Fresno City Singers, in collaboration with the Fresno State Choirs , present “Walk in Peace: A Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King and Black History Month” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, in the Old Administration Building Auditorium at Fresno City College.

The program will focus on the African-American spiritual intertwined with readings of writings and speeches by great Americans such as Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Pearl S. Buck, W. Ann Rogers, Langston Hughes and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. DeAnna Reese, coordinator of the Fresno State Africana Studies Program, will be a guest reader.

Individual choirs will have an opportunity to perform different parts of the program, culminating in the closing pieces’ combined performances featuring the Fresno State Concert Choir, Chamber Singers and the Fresno City Singers.
